Aorus X3
So, the older model AORUS X3
is a great computer. With a quad-core i7 4860hq, 870m 6GB, 8GB ram, and a 256GB SSD, it's CPU and GPU is A LOT better then my MacBook Air, and the ram and SSD are the same. And it's only $1299! The i7 / dGPU / 8GB ram / 256GB SSD Surface Book is $1889 for education pricing, so the Aorus is very cheap. Plus, I can buy the Aorus X3 right now, while the Surface Book wont ship until Dec 18.
So, I'm not sure if I want to buy this now or wait for the Surface Book. I really like the idea of being able to combine my MacBook Air and iPad into one device, and get better performance, a dedicated GPU, and much better battery life. But, my MacBook Air battery is getting worse by the day, and I would like to update as soon as possible.
Then again, I could use a couple months of saving, so my credit score doesn't take a hit by using my credit card for such a purchase. I *could* hold out, my MacBook Air still works, it just doesn't last without being plugged in.
